Negroponte Urges Musharraf to End State of Emergency (Update4)

Nov. 18 (Bloomberg) indie style Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf must lift
the state of emergency he declared this month and release all
political detainees, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte
said.

Negroponte met yesterday with Musharraf to urge the army chief to
restore the constitution before holding general elections in the next
two months. Opposition parties led by former prime ministers Benazir

``Musharraf cannot last unless he has the blessings of the U.S.,''

and Conflict Studies.

Supreme Court

extremism is to develop a moderate political center.''

Leadership `Troika'

U.S. diplomacy is aimed at establishing a leadership independent clothing in

al-Qaeda and the Taliban have regrouped, and pro-Taliban elements now
control the tribal areas of Pakistan,'' Bhutto said on CNN's ``Late
Edition.''

The U.S. will review aid to Pakistan, Secretary streetwear clothes State Condoleezza

restraint'' and hold parliamentary elections on schedule early next
year.

Bhutto, 54, was freed from house arrest in Lahore on Nov. 16 after
