This will be the first three-network simulcast in NFL history and the

in 1967.

The three-member Vermont congressional delegation initially asked the
NFL on Dec. 14 to reconsider its ruling. Leahy, Sen. Bernie Sanders,
I-Vt., and Rep. Peter Welch, D-Vt., noted that Vermont has long been
considered part of the home market of the New England Patriots and

lack of regular television coverage. Goodell said he would allow the
game to be shown only in what the NFL considered the primary markets
for the Giants and Patriots, along with customers paying for the NFL
Network.

A Leahy spokesman said Wednesday night an invitation for Goodell to
appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee could have come as early
as today. That expected invitation is on hold.

The last undefeated NFL team was the 1972 Miami Dolphins, who went
14-0 during the regular season and 17-0 overall.
